The situation
Marsh-front homes on Sullivan's Island take weather from every direction: salt air off the water, humidity, and shade from mature trees that feeds mildew on siding and decking. This home's shingle exterior and layered decks had collected the film and organic buildup that coastal homes accumulate, dulling the finish across every level.
Our approach
Everything on this house was washed at low pressure with surface-appropriate cleaning solutions. Shingle siding and painted trim get soft washing because high pressure can drive water behind shingles and strip paint. The deck boards, porch ceilings, and railings were rinsed gently, hedges and plantings below were kept wet and protected, and our technician worked around the hot tub, outdoor furniture, and screened porches rather than asking the owner to clear the space.
On the job
The result
Siding, decks, and porches came clean across all levels without high pressure touching a single shingle. Homes this close to the marsh benefit from a wash on a regular schedule; salt and organic growth return faster than they do inland, which is why many of our island customers move to a maintenance plan after their first full wash.
