Full Soft Wash on a Marsh-Front Sullivan's Island Home

This is a large home with shingle siding that looks out over the marsh. We washed it top to bottom at low pressure. That took in the siding, the wraparound decks, the porches, and the railings. We kept the plants safe the whole time.

The problem

Homes on the marsh get weather from every side. Salt air blows in off the water. The air is damp. Big trees throw shade, and shade feeds mildew on siding and decks. This home had a film of salt and growth on the shingles and decks. Every level looked dull.

What we did

We washed the whole house at low pressure with the right cleaning solution for each surface. Shingle siding and painted trim need a soft wash. High pressure can push water behind shingles and strip paint. We rinsed the deck boards, porch ceilings, and railings gently. We kept the hedges and plants below wet to protect them. Our tech worked around the hot tub, the outdoor furniture, and the screened porches. The owner did not have to clear anything out.

The result

The siding, decks, and porches came clean on every level. High pressure never touched a single shingle. Homes this close to the marsh do best with a wash on a regular schedule. Salt and growth come back faster here than inland. That is why many of our island customers move to a maintenance plan after their first full wash.
